What is this “leading underscore on identifiers” crap that I’ve been seeing all over the place?

(Note to C programmers: Symbols with leading underscores don’t belong to you. They belong to the toolchain).

Besides, they look ugly.

    For old-time C programmers it’s a standard used to indicate arguments to a function.

    I picked it up somewhere… don’t remember when…
