    So, if I add PEEK and POKE equivalents to Atari800 Intercal, I can totally rule that virgin territory in the lower-left quadrant?

    BTW: I took a class from Butler Lampson, where the first assignment was essentially “code BigNums in Fortran”. His emphasis seems to have changed, although even then I suspected that the point of the exercise was to drive home the point that language matters.
